Le Cordon Bleu Australia has been approved as one of only 19 Non-University participants in the Streamlined Visa Processing (SVP) program, an initiative of the Department of Immigration and Border Protection to help make Australia a destination of choice for Overseas Students.
Effective 24th March 2014, overseas students applying to study Bachelor and Master’s degrees at Le Cordon Bleu Adelaide and Sydney campuses will be eligible for Streamlined Visa Processing (SVP), whereby the Australian Department of Immigration and Border Protection (DIBP) will process all higher education (sub class 573) student visa applications under a low migration risk criteria, regardless of their country of origin.
Le Cordon Bleu Australia has developed an internal assessment process to manage the risk posed by applicants from various countries and regions (as determined by the information made public by the Department of Immigration and Border Protection). Applicants and agents from all countries will need to complete a declaration addressing the GTE criteria and explicitly acknowledge their obligations as an international student in Australia on a student visa.
This declaration form will be found on the Le Cordon Bleu Australia website from the 24th March.
Applications from countries under AL 2 and 3 will be required to complete a declaration and a checklist that provides more information on the GTE criteria. Both the documents aim to identify genuine students who plan to stay in Australia temporarily and abide by the conditions of their student visa. Applicants from AL 2 and 3 are also required to complete a financial declaration form which is needed at the time of acceptance. The financial declaration form provides information on the evidence of funds from a prospective applicant.
This declaration form and checklist will be found on the Le Cordon Bleu Australia website from the 24th March.
SVP requires that Le Cordon Bleu Australia has a greater responsibility for students’ compliance with the conditions of their student visa, and students should be aware that they may have their visa cancelled due to the following reasons:
1: Unsatisfactory course progression
2: Failure to make fee payments
3: Low attendance
4: Transfer to another provider
Students may apply to Le Cordon Bleu Australia under the SVP program by completing the corresponding forms, available from the 24th March 2014 on the Le Cordon Bleu Australia website, for July 2014 intake onwards. Students already holding Letters of Offer for July 2014 intake and onwards will be contacted by Le Cordon Bleu Admissions.
If you would like more information on the SVP process, please visit the Department of Immigration and Border Protection information page or email Le Cordon Bleu directly at svp@cordonbleu.edu.
